Groups: save a player list once, reuse it every event
Do you run events for the same people - a league night, a club's members, a yearly buddies trip? Build the list once as a group. Each new event then starts from that list, not from an empty box.
Create a group
Open Player groups in the sidebar and create one. Paste the members, one per line as "Name, 12.4". The number is the player's handicap, which evens out play between strong and weak golfers. It is optional. You can also import a CSV file, including a GHIN club roster export (GHIN is the US handicap service). That brings first and last name, Handicap Index, and email.
Group imports match by name. A new GHIN export updates the list and does not add anyone twice.
Pull a group into an event
On the event's roster page, under Pull in a saved group, choose the group and press Pull in. Only people not on the roster yet are added. For stroke play and Stableford (solo formats), each person arrives as a player with their handicap. For team formats, the names go into the paste box so you can set up the teams.
Save an event roster back
After an event, save its roster into a group, new or existing. Names are merged, not doubled. Run the same outing next year and the field is one step away.

Frequently asked questions
Do paid marks carry into a group?
No. Paid status belongs to each event, not to the group. The group keeps names, handicaps, and emails. Each event tracks its own payments.
Can a player be in more than one group?
Yes. Groups are saved lists. Your Saturday crew and your member-guest field can share people.

On a new event, the first stop on the Run tab, **Who's playing?**, takes a pasted list. For everything else - one player at a time, a spreadsheet, a photo of the sign-up sheet, or a saved group - use the event's roster page. Use whichever way matches what you have in your hand.
If your sign-ups are in a spreadsheet or a registration site, do not type them again. On the event's roster page, open **Import a list** and then the **Upload a file** tab. ScrambleBoard finds the columns that matter.
