Add players and build teams
Roster building lives on the event's share page, and there are three ways in: paste, file upload, or a photo of the sign-up sheet. Use whichever matches what's in your hand.
Type or paste
The fastest path for most events. One line per entry — for team formats that's one line per team with names separated by commas or slashes; for stroke play and Stableford it's one player per line. Add a handicap after a name ("Sam Miller, 12.4") and it's parsed and attached; plus handicaps like "+2.4" work too.
Pasting is idempotent: names are matched case-insensitively against the current roster, so pasting an updated list adds only the newcomers — nobody gets duplicated.
Upload a file
CSV, TSV, or a plain text list. Header rows are detected loosely — "First Name"/"Last Name", "Player", "Handicap Index", and the paid/amount columns that registration platforms export are all recognized, so an Eventbrite or GolfStatus export usually imports as-is.

Scan a sign-up sheet
Take a photo of the paper list on the pro-shop counter. The names are read in your browser with open-source OCR (the photo never leaves your phone) and dropped into the paste box, where you check the spelling before anyone is added.
Teams vs. individual formats
In scramble and best ball, each roster line is a team. In stroke play and Stableford every player stands alone — behind the scenes each gets a team of one, which is why the whole app scores uniformly. Players can also be moved between teams from the roster admin at any point before things get serious.
Save it for next time
Tick "Save this roster as a group" when importing, or save the finished roster to a group afterward — next event, you pull the whole crew in with one click, handicaps included.

Frequently asked questions
Do players add themselves or do I add them?
Either. You can pre-load the full roster and let players claim their names, or leave slots open and let players add themselves from the join page. Most organizers pre-load teams so the scramble pairings are set.
What if I paste the same list twice?
Nothing bad — names already on the roster are skipped. Imports match by name, so re-importing an updated list only adds the new people.
