Import your roster from a spreadsheet or registration export
If your sign-ups live in a spreadsheet or a registration platform, don't retype them. Export to CSV, upload it on the share page, and the columns that matter are found automatically.
What files work
CSV, TSV, or plain text, up to 1 MB. Export straight from Google Sheets or Excel (File → Download → CSV), or use the attendee/order export your registration platform already produces - Eventbrite, GolfStatus, and Square export shapes are unit-tested against the importer.
Columns are matched loosely
You don't need exact headers. "First Name" + "Last Name" pairs are joined; "Player", "Name", or "Attendee" columns are used whole; "Handicap", "Handicap Index", or "HCP" attaches handicaps (including plus handicaps like "+1.8").
Paid status imports too
If the export has a paid, amount-paid, payment-status, or order-status column, it's read and each imported player is marked paid accordingly - "paid", "yes", a checkmark, or a dollar amount all count. That feeds the paid chips on the roster, the "N unpaid" badge in the control room, and the check-in sheet.

GHIN club rosters
A GHIN club-roster export (First Name / Last Name / Handicap Index / Email columns) imports cleanly - best into a saved group, so every event you run pulls current handicaps from one place. There's no public GHIN API, so the CSV your club can already export is the reliable path.

Frequently asked questions
My spreadsheet has extra columns - do I need to delete them?
No. Unrecognized columns are ignored. The importer looks for name, handicap, and paid columns and skips the rest.
Can I import teams from a spreadsheet?
For team formats, put each team on one line with player names separated by commas or slashes. Individual formats take one player per row.
