Create your first event in ScrambleBoard

From sign-in to a shareable QR poster takes about five minutes. Your first event is free, so run a practice event first — same flow, no charge — and the real one will feel routine.

Sign in (players never have to)

Only the organizer needs an account. Sign-in is a passwordless email link — no password to invent or forget. Your players never sign in: they'll scan a QR code, claim their name, and score in the browser.

Step 1 — name the event, pick the course

Hit Run an event, give it a name, and choose the course and tee set. If your course isn't in the list, use the course-database search on the same screen to pull it in. The tee you pick matters: slope, rating, and per-hole stroke index come from it, and net scoring uses them automatically.

Each event takes a snapshot of the course card at creation, so a later re-rating never changes a finished leaderboard. Spot a wrong par or stroke index? You can edit this event's course card during setup without touching the shared database.

Step 2 — format and scoring

Choose the format: scramble (team), best ball (team), stroke play (individual), or Stableford (points). Then two quick decisions:

• Scoring — gross counts every stroke as-is; net subtracts each player's course handicap (computed from their Handicap Index and your tee's slope/rating). Net needs handicaps on the roster.
• Start — shotgun or tee times.
• TV board — leaderboard only, a 20-second rotation between board, challenges, and skins, or a split view.
• Skins — off, gross, or net; runs alongside the main leaderboard.
• Optional: a max team size (over-size teams get flagged, never blocked) and an event PIN players must enter to claim a name.

Step 3 — share it

The share page gives you everything players need: a printable QR poster for carts and the pro shop, and a short join code they can type at the site if a camera won't cooperate. This is also where you build the roster — paste names, upload a file, or scan a sign-up sheet.

On the day

Open the TV board URL on any browser — smart TV, laptop on HDMI, streaming stick — and press fullscreen. Players scan, claim, and score; the board updates itself. When the last card is in, review anything flagged and finalize from the control room.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay to try it?

No. Your first event is free — set it up, invite a few friends, score a practice round, and put the board on a TV. Paid pricing ($89 small events, $150 for 17+ players) only applies when you publish a real event after your free one.

Can I change the format after setup?

Yes — setup choices stay editable until play starts. Format, scoring, skins, TV mode, and the event course card can all be adjusted from the manage screens.
